Footing Loads

User can define vertical load acting on pile cap and lateral load acting on pile group under footing tab. selecting the Y direction assumes the load is applied on pile cap.X1/L or X2/L is measured from the edge of the footing and L is footing length along X direction. For lateral load such as water, acting on pile group, user can define the trapezoidal or concentrated force acting on the pile group. The location Y1/L or Y2/L is measured from the bottom of the pile, where L is the total pile length as defined in pile definition under footing|Pile geometry information.

In addition, this screen uses the global coordinate system, e.g., loads acting down in the Y direction must be negative.
